Cancelation and Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Reduction
There have
been news of plans to cancel Playland and the PNE being reduced to only
ten fair days. Normally, the PNE runs for 17 days while Playland is
open 100 days a year. The city is planning to add more green space to
Hastings Park. What are your thoughts on these changes?
For those of
you who are unfamiliar with Vancouver's PNE and Playland, it's our
local version of a smaller Disneyland. Many families here in Vancouver
grew up going to this annual fair. There would be a huge opening day
parade every year to kick off the event. It's something with heritage
and nostalgic traditions for many of us Vancouverites.
