These are the 2003 Mars Viewing photographs taken by English Bay in Vancouver, Canada.  Mars is less than 34.65 million miles (55.76 million kilometers) away on August 27, 2003 - closer than it has been in 59,619 years!  The crowded area had long line-ups to view Mars through 10x to 100x telescopes.
